Tend
A Winter Day Retreat for Women
Led by Sarah Pascual & Lindsey Kraten
With special guest Yvette Cotter of Thistle & Tonic
January 30, 2027
Bonny Doon, California
To tend is to show up. To give attention. To care for something, or someone, with patience and presence.

We spend so much of our lives tending to everything else. Our work. Our families. Our endless lists. We pour outward until there is nothing left to pour from, and then we wonder why we feel so depleted.
This day is for tending to yourself.
Not as an afterthought. Not squeezed between obligations. But fully, intentionally, and without apology.

Welcome to Tend.

A full-day women’s retreat nestled in the redwoods of Bonny Doon, held at a breathtaking private property deep in the Santa Cruz mountains. This is not a spa day. This is not a workshop. This is an invitation to descend into stillness, into your body, into the kind of rest that actually restores you.
Arrive to the smell of woodsmoke and wet earth.
To towering redwoods filtering winter light. To a fireplace already crackling, candles already lit, and a warm botanical tonic waiting in your hands before you’ve even taken off your coat.

The property is lush and private, surrounded by old-growth trees, open sky, and the particular quiet that only the mountains can offer in January. There is an outdoor hot tub if your body wants to melt. There are soft corners to curl into. There is nothing you need to be here except present.
We have held this day with intention from the very first detail. The practitioners, the food, the flow of the afternoon, all of it designed so that by the time you leave, you feel like yourself again. Maybe even more than yourself.
The Day
Morning
GROUND

You arrive to a seasonal welcome beverage — a signature botanical creation by Yvette of Thistle & Tonic, crafted from plants chosen to ease you gently into the day.
Then we begin with movement. Sarah will guide you through a restorative and somatic yoga practice designed specifically for winter, for the nervous system that has been running too fast, for the body that is asking to be met with gentleness. Somatic practices invite you to listen inward, to notice what your body is holding, and to move from sensation rather than instruction. This is not about achieving a shape. It is about coming home to yourself, slowly, curiously, without force.
Sarah holds space with warmth, depth, and an intuitive understanding of what the body needs to feel safe enough to let go.
Midday
NOURISH

Lunch is an experience in itself.
Lindsey will prepare a warm, seasonal, organic meal with the same care she brings to every table. Think slow-cooked grains, roasted vegetables, broths that warm you from the inside, and flavors that feel like a hug. This is food as medicine. Food as love. Eaten slowly, in good company, around a table that feels like home.
Afterward, gather for a hands-on herbal tea blending experience led by Yvette. You’ll explore seasonal botanicals, learn what each one offers, and craft your own blend to take home — a small, living ritual from this day that continues in your kitchen.
Afternoon
DISSOLVE

As the afternoon light softens through the trees, gather for a curated botanical beverage experience before your final practice. Yvette will offer two spirit-free options — grounding, seasonal, and beautifully prepared — a quiet transition into what comes next.
Then Lindsey Kraten will guide you into sound. Using crystal singing bowls, gongs, and other resonant instruments, the sound bath is designed to take you somewhere words cannot. Sound works on the body at a cellular level, releasing tension held in places you didn’t know were tight, quieting the mind when the mind refuses to quiet itself, and creating space for something new to settle in.
You don’t have to do anything. You just have to receive.
Between sessions, the outdoor hot tub is yours. The fireplace is yours. The forest is yours. Wander. Rest. Sit in silence or fall into easy conversation with the women around you. This day has no agenda beyond your restoration.
Before you go
Each guest leaves with a curated bag of handcrafted herbal goodies from Thistle & Tonic — a small extension of the day, made to be opened slowly at home.

This retreat is for women.
For the one who knows she needs to slow down but hasn’t given herself permission yet. For the one who is deeply capable and deeply tired. For anyone who has been craving something real — real nourishment, real stillness, real connection — in a world that keeps asking for more.
You do not need any experience with yoga or sound healing. You only need to show up.
TEND brings together Sarah Pascual, Lindsey Kraten, and Yvette Cotter of Thistle & Tonic.
Through our retreats and gatherings, we’ve loved weaving yoga, nourishing food, sound, and herbal rituals into experiences that feel deeply caring. We’re excited to bring these offerings together for a winter day in the redwoods—a chance to slow down and let yourself be tended to.
We would love to welcome you.
